Four in a Bed

Newton House in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire is the winner of the Channel 4 TV Show ‘Four in a Bed’ that aired from 16th to 20th May 2016.

Owner, Denise Carter, and her colleague Jackie Fennell, took part in the filming of the latest series of this popular reality TV show. Four sets of B&B owners throw open their doors and take turns to stay with one another – and pay what they consider fair for their stay. The winner of the competition is the B&B that is judged to be the best value for money.

“It was super to get such high scores on the first day, and then to be judged best value for money is just great, especially as I have never won anything ever – not even a raffle!. We had a great time during filming of the show, and we loved getting to know our fellow contestants.”,  comments Denise Carter.

“All the other contestants said they would like to stay at Newton House again. They all paid for their stays in full, so it’s fantastic to have confirmation from our peers that Newton House is good value for money. Both myself and my Newton House Ladies work very hard to maintain our high standards. The show has put Newton House on the map and especially highlighted our food and our quality.” added Denise. “Our winner’s plaque will take pride of place at Newton House, although I’m not sure where I’m going to put it yet!”.

“I’d like to thank the people who helped us win the competition: Chris Bax of Taste the Wild near Boroughbridge, Sue McDonough of Honey Bees in Knaresborough and, of course, my Newton House Ladies, “ said Denise.
