We can even make arrangements for a Blue Badge Guide to accompany your group.

Following ‘Le Tour’ (which went right past Newton House) Yorkshire is now the ‘capital of cycling’ and has a network of cycling routes. We offer secure storage for cycles in our courtyard car park.

There are several golf courses close by including: Knaresborough, Harrogate, Pannal, Ripon and Rudding Park. MORE…

Birdwatching & Wildlife

From kingfishers and Ancient Woodland on the river Nidd, to moorland in Nidderdale, and local & national nature reserves with rare plant species.

Heritage

From castles and abbeys (like Knaresborough and Fountains) to the treasure houses of Harewood and Castle Howard and interesting historic homes like Markenfield Hall and Ripley Castle.

Walking

We have several suggested walks around Knaresborough, and can help with planning walks further afield. In addition we can offer drying facilities for wet clothing and boots.

Shopping

Choose from Harrogate, with its stylish shops; Leeds, with its vibrant, contemporary shopper’s paradise; or York, with it’s narrow streets and boutique shops.

Gardens

From the beautiful RHS gardens at Harlow Carr and interesting plantsmans gardens to fascinating designed landscapes and garden history. 2016 is Capability Brown’s 300th Anniversary.

Food

Discover some of the finest food and drink in the country at farmers markets and food festivals, specialist shops and artisan producers, and Yorkshire’s many pubs and restaurants.
